The More We Are, The More We Halve

Every day is World Food Day for anybody who feels responsible to the earth. As Grundig, we believe that everyone should strive for a better future together. That’s why we do our best to prevent food waste on every possible platform like Respect Food. This platform and the concept mentioned in its name is the only way to live in a sustainable future. All the small steps matter, because what we believe in the inside is reflecting on the outside.

This year, we welcome United Nations’s call against food waste. From The International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (29th Sep) till the World Food Day (16th Oct), our beloved brand ambassador and UNEP Goodwill Ambassador Massimo Bottura, Food For Soul and we as Grundig, will be promoting the message “The More We Are, The More We Halve” and we’ll encourage people to contribute to this mission. Reducing food waste in our households can be very simple and we’ll demonstrate how with our social media posts, articles and recipes.

The Stronger We Are, The Stronger We Will Be!

Because The More We Are, The More We Halve!

Wasting food is wasting life

For us, every day is World Food Day. We feel that it’s our responsibility to lead the fight against food waste. To remind the world not to take food for granted, but to treat it with care. Respecting food is the only way we can ensure a better future. And as a brand that believes in a better future, every day we’re working toward developing new technologies that fight food waste. That’s our mission.

Moreover, we know great missions need great partnerships. Thanks to ours, over the last year we saved more than 200 tonnes of food, served 450,000 dishes, and worked with more than 15.000 volunteers and 300 chefs.

As a global brand with a strong eco-conscience, by adopting this Respect Food initiative, we champion the cause of reducing food waste. Our «Respect Food» initiative aims to inspire everyone to fight with us, by showing people how to tackle waste in kitchens with innovative products.

That’s why we ask you to join us and let’s #RespectFood together. Because without you we can’t make it.

How much food do you waste?

Did you know that a third of the world’s annual food production ends up in the trash? That’s 1.3 BILLION TONNES of edible food wasted. It’s food that could feed 868 million of the world’s hungry. In fact, it’s 4-times the amount of food they need to lead nourished lives.

Respect Food Partnerships

Though fighting food waste starts at home, and helped along by innovation, it takes real people with real vision to lead the charge. Our beloved partner, Chef Massimo Bottura’s cultural association, and our community partner, Food For Soul was founded to promote social awareness about food waste and hunger. Food for Soul drives forward a range of initiatives in collaboration with chefs, artisans, food suppliers, designers, and institutions.
We both believe Cooking is an Act of Love, for People and Planet. This Christmas, you can join us in a call to act and make a donation for a good cause.
